Working Together in Washington, DC
TAR CEO Romeo Arrieta recently joined the Chamber of Southern Arizona and a group of 20 regional business and community leaders in Washington, D.C., last month to advocate for the needs of the business community in Tucson and greater Southern Arizona.
While in Washington, Romeo and other leaders participated in high-level conversations with our congressional delegation, the U.S. Chamber, the Pentagon, the Mexican Embassy, and federal policy experts on issues directly impacting the real estate industry, including transportation and permitting, tariffs, water, Davis-Monthan AFB, and cross-border collaboration.
The delegation also received early insight into emerging federal priorities, including AI infrastructure, quantum technology, and biotech. As these sectors grow in Southern Arizona, they will shape everything from housing demand to workforce development to long-term regional planning.
Advocacy like this benefits our members by keeping TAR connected to conversations at the federal level and builds partnerships with other members of the local business community. This leads to stronger advocacy for policies that support housing, economic growth, and vibrant communities, and more insight into issues that impact development, infrastructure, and our local market.
Having a seat at the table lends TAR’s voice to future federal investments and gives our members a strong voice on the issues that matter.
