Happy Thanksgiving. We are all aware of the challenges that still lie ahead of all of us but we wish you all the best in this special time of the year as we take stock of all the blessings we have that matter the most.
Washington DC:
The bipartisan super committee appears stalled and unable to come to agreement on even mild deficit reduction. With a Thanksgiving deadline looming, talk has again returned to a fight between tax increases and spending cuts. For REALTORS®, this means the mortgage interest deduction could once again be under consideration for elimination as a way to bring more revenue into Washington. Be prepared to act immediately if a call to action is issued.
Pima County:
The Pima County Bond Advisory Committee will be meeting on Friday, November 18th to discuss upcoming bond election possibilities directed toward economic development. There will be presentations by many of Southern Arizona’s major employers. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Manning House, 450 W. Paseo Redondo at 8am.
City of Tucson:
With the elections behind us, Tucson will swear in to the Tucson City Council our new Mayor, Jonathan Rothschild and returning Council Members Regina Romero, Shirley Scott and TAR endorsed candidate, Paul Cunningham. We look forward to working with our elected officials on many issues of importance in the upcoming year.
