ADRE Updates
New law requires licensing agencies to obtain proof of
license applicant’s legal presence in the United States:
The 2008
Legislature enacted a new section of law, ARS
§41-1080, which requires licensing agencies,
including the Department of Real Estate, to obtain
proof of the license applicant’s legal presence in
the United States prior to issuing or renewing a
license. Effective October
1, 2008, you will not be eligible to renew your
license unless the Department of Real Estate
receives proof of your legal presence in this
country.

Department launched Continuing Education
Management Program on 8/18/08.Licensees
who have a 4 year license that expires July 2010,
should enter their CE for the first 24 months now;
those licensees whose licenses expire August 2010,
should also enter their CE for the first 24
months before the end of August 2008. Go to the
Department’s website at https://az.gov/webapp/dre/
and log in, then click the link marked “Manage my
Continuing Education.”

TAR Offers Group Rates for Umbrella Insurance
The Tucson Association of REALTORS® is offering special
group rates for personal liability insurance (aka umbrella
insurance) coverage up to $50 million. The policy
would be for your personal liability exposure but would
extend to your automobile when you are transporting clients
and errors and omissions when you serve on not-for-profit
boards. The coverage is discounted, on average, 30%
off what is available to individual policy holders.
There also additional coverage benefits included in the
plan. There will be a meeting to discuss the policy
and answer questions on Friday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m.
in the conference center.

Call for
Volunteers for the Property Management Committee A new
Property Management Committee is being formed and we are
seeking interested volunteers. The purpose of the Committee
will be to: 1) educate membership on the standards of
practice and competency reasonably expected in the property
management discipline, 2) educate membership on the
standards of care involved in property management and 3)
make recommendations regarding the Rapattoni MLS system with
respect to rentals. Join us for our next scheduled
meeting is August 27 from 10:00 - 12:00 at the Association office. Should

SAMLA and MGIC Designs for Learning Power Workshops Get
more out of your career with designs for learning from SAMLA and MGIC. Come to

analysis and the art of evaluating the appraisal. The workshop is being held on
September 23 at 8:30 a.m. at Tucson Country Club.

TAR MLS Dues Billing
Information The $230 was due to MLS Thursday, July 31st, 2008. Important Dates:
$25 Late Fee Assessed: 8/6/08; Suspension of MLS
participation for non-payment of dues 8/16/08 and
Termination of MLS participation for non-payment of
dues: 8/26/08. In the event a member is terminated for
non-payment of MLS fees, they are subject to a $45 MLS
application fee, as well as the MLS fees due at the time
of invoice.

The Tucson Foothills Rotary Club Fundraiser

Foothills Rotary Club is presenting "A Flavor of
