Proposed Announcement Important News Regarding Short Sale Commissions
Fannie Mae announced on February 24th that effective March 1st, 2009 they will not attempt to reduce the commission amount negotiated between the broker and seller on short sale listings, provided the commission is 6% or less of the sale price. This is not a commission guarantee by Fannie Mae- it is a protection of the amount broker and seller have agreed upon. In addition, this protection only applies to Fannie Mae backed mortgages. 2nd lien holders and mortgage insurers are not bound by this announcement.
Re-List Fee Increase
Effective immediately, the fee for withdraw and relist of listings has been increased from $15 to $30.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Compensation in MLS!
Staff has just completed review of the 2009 MLS rule changes sent from NAR. These changes do involve
compensation and commissions. Once the Standards Committee and the MLS Board have been advised, we
will implement as appropriate. In the meantime, current MLS Rules regarding compensation are in effect.
