Stuff the Bus for TUSD!
TAR
will be hosting a school supplies drive for TUSD with the
help of Beaudry RV and Office Max. To preserve costs, we
will be “stuffing” an RV, provided by Beaudry RV. Mark your
calendars to drop of your donation on any of the following
dates: July 18, 19, 25 and 26 and August 1 and 2 from Noon
to 3:00 p.m. at Office Max, 5550 E. Broadway or on Friday,
August 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Supplies needed are
anything from pens and pencils to paper and backpacks. If
you’d like to volunteer, please contact Laura at 382-8775.

TAR MLS Dues
Billing Information
The 2008/2009 MLS fees invoices
have been mailed out. The $230 is due to MLS
on July 31st, 2008. Fees are non-refundable and cannot
be paid in installments. Dues can always be paid online
at
www.tucsonrealtors.org with a major credit card. Select “Members”
link,
“Pay MLS Dues Online,” and follow the login
instructions. Fees may also be paid in person or by
mail, with a check or major credit card. Important
Dates: Invoice Due Date: 7/31/08; $25 Late Fee Assessed:
8/6/08; Suspension of MLS participation for non-payment
of dues 8/16/08 and Termination of MLS participation for
non-payment of dues: 8/26/08. In the event a member is
terminated for non-payment of MLS fees, they are subject
to a $45 MLS application fee, as well as the MLS fees
due at the time of invoice. The member will be required
to take New Member Orientation again.

San
Carlos, Mexico Listings
We have
added a link to the San Carlos, Mexico MLS
public site to the Rapattoni MLS. Under ‘Links,
Links and Documents’, you will find the link
that will take you to the site. Please be aware
that you must be licensed in the state of Sonora
to practice real estate, and that these listings
are not subject to the rules and regulations of
the Tucson MLS. This is an excellent referral
opportunity to better serve your clients
interested in San Carlos. We are also working
with Rocky Point to get a link to their listings
as well. In the near future, we will have the
Active San Carlos listings available to search
within Rapattoni, and the Tucson active listings
will be available to San Carlos.
MLS
Photographs
Effective
July 5th, 2008 the MLS will no longer be able to
provide photography service for new listings.
The Photographer has changed his business model
and will not be renewing our contract for
photography services. We are sorry for the short
notice and inconvenience this may cause. Members
may continue to upload their own photos, and
staff will continue to upload photos delivered
to us. Andy Gordon is providing classes on how
to upload photos to MLS using your computer,
please see his class schedule at
www.tucsonrealtors.org.
REALTOR® Only MLS-Update
You have
no doubt heard that as of 7/1 we are going to an all
REALTOR® MLS. The reason we are doing this is so that
all MLS participants will be subject to the same Code of
Ethics and professional standards process. Just to
clarify, a participant in the MLS must be a
REALTOR®. This does not mean he or she must be a
member of the Tucson Association of REALTORS®.
Someone can be a member of any other REALTOR®
Association and still be a member of our MLS without
having to formally join our Association. Appraiser
members do not have to go to real estate school, as
they are already recognized by the National
Association of REALTORS®, they just need to join an
Association. Additionally, there will be one group
of people intentionally exempted from the all
REALTOR® MLS and that is Builders who list their
properties in the MLS. Site sales agents, for
example, can input listings without being
REALTORS®. Builders who take advantage of the
exemption will only be able to list property. If
they want to use the full functionality of the MLS
for other activities they will need to join both the
Association and MLS. Current MLS only members who are
not REALTORS® may join the Association of their
choice. For those that join the Tucson Association,
they will pay the prorated Association dues based
upon the date they join.
MLS Area Boundaries Revision
A subcommittee has been formed to address the MLS map
and boundaries. As the county continues to grow and more
subdivisions are added, it has become necessary to look
at the area boundaries and implement a system that not
only works today, but will be valid as we continue to
grow. If you have inputs on this issue, please forward

progress of the subcommittee when appropriate.

Computer Training Center
Come to this three-hour HANDS-ON training class to learn
new skills for working with Windows. We'll look at
basics for getting around in Windows, using Windows
Clipboard, and customizing features to give you more

Computer Training Center
This is the best class to get you started using
Microsoft Word! We’ll start at the beginning with some
basic text entry (don't’ worry-this is not a typing
class). From there, we’ll look at easy to edit the text
and format the appearance. Then we’ll go to tables and
then graphics and finally to laying out the text on the
page. This class is broken into two days to make it
easier to absorb. Along the way, you’ll receive plenty
of hands-on practice and patient attention. Reference

The Hearth News
The
Hearth is happy to announce that
fundraising is on track for this year so
far. A great big Thank You goes out
to The Bruce T. Halle Foundation, Nikki
Mehalik-Halle and her husband for their
generous challenge to those attending
the Founders Day Lunch. This year was
our first silent auction and fundraiser
at this lunch and we were able to raise
over $20k at this event.
We also want to Thank the Street Rods
and Jim Chumbler. Again this year The
Hearth was the sole recipient of their
fundraiser and auction. This wonderful
group really supports The Hearth and our work.
Thanks as well to Pantano Rotary Club, TAR
Staff and our student volunteers, Audith
Subramanian and Taylor Conrad, for their
help in making A Nite at the Races
Kentucky Derby Fundraiser a success
again this year. This was the second
annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser and we
raised more this year than last. We
appreciate how the Real Estate Community
has supported The Hearth even in our current
market.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer Fundraiser, July 8
