Representation through
Community Affairs
TAR advances public policies that preserve the
best real estate environment for your business
through legislative efforts at the local level.
The Community Affairs Committee has been
instrumental in the passage of the 2004 Bond
package, the 2005 Transportation Plan, the 2005
Minor Lands Division Ordinance in Pima County,
the 2006 Transfer of Development Rights
Ordinance and the 2006 RTA Plan. Thousands of
volunteer and staff hours have gone into
promoting REALTOR® interests in our community.
Risk Reduction and
Management
The TAR Risk Management Committee keeps you
informed and updated on topics of crucial
importance - RESPA, mortgage/appraisal fraud and
antitrust, to name just a few. They organize
educational seminars and public weekly "risk
tips" to help you avoid liability.
Communications & Publications
The Association works to keep you up-to-date on
real estate industry news and developments
through a variety of publications - Tucson
REALTOR® Magazine, our bi-monthly publication,
the weekly e-update, the community affairs
newsletter and other communications to help you
stay current and informed.
Networking & Volunteer
Opportunities
The Association offers a variety of ways for you
to connect and network with your peers,
including the weekly
Marketing Sessions and Home
Tours and regular membership meetings. You also
have an opportunity to give back to your
industry by
volunteering for one of our many
committees.
Media Relations
The Association fosters interactive
relationships with local and national media to
promote the benefits of using a REALTOR®. In
2006 and 2007, TAR launched a television
advertising campaign showing the public the true
difference REALTORS® make throughout Southern
Arizona. In 2008, the Association will focus on
increasing our presence in the community.
